Fall is Here!
I can not even put into words how much I love fall. Cool weather, hot drinks, cardigans
(for this cardigan-holic), flannel, leaves changing.
This picture sums up my feelings exactly.
With that said I think it must be some sick joke that I live in Texas the leaves change from green to brown and it's still 97 degrees. But non the less I still love and dream of true fall seasons.
Fall is also one of my favorite seasons to decorate for. I always have my closet stocked for the exact moment I can start burning pumpkin candles. We've already been cooking with pumpkin too. The girl and I making pumpkin bread last week. Yum.
So of course over on Pinterest I am pinning to my heart's content fall entries, mantles, outfits etc. I thought I'd share some ones that just get me excited.
I guess I love stacking pumpkins. Love these entries.
Mantles.
I've have really loved simplistic decorating as of late. My newest decorating kick has been- using what you already have, or using unexpected items in your decorating. Like in the picture above, I love that they used that wooden pallet, definitely unexpected but it brings the whole thing together giving a rustic feel. All the other items as well aren't "fall" decorations. The wooden boxes, the vases could've been taken from around the home and just added the pumpkins and the branches and it's beautiful and gives the complete feeling of fall.
This one is so simple, but yet still beautiful at the same time. I've also been doing this around my house is leaning the pictures on shelves etc. The layering is adding dimension and you are not committing by putting holes in the wall. Also to change even the exact same mantle you can take out the yellow branches and put an orchid or hydrangeas and it automatically changes the feel to spring.
I love the greenery on the mantle. I am a huge fan of using natural elements in decorating. But I think the main thing I love about this living room is that it isn't screaming a season, but it feels like fall. The warmth, the browns and tans. Beautiful.
I hate to admit it, but this is about all the fall decorating I've done. I did a fall table when we were having some people over but other than that I have this pumpkin out and I bought a black crow for $1 as my "halloween" table. I never decorate for halloween but I thought a bird would look good in my birdcage. How have you decorated for fall?
Are you not dying to start dressing like this?
I really love this outfit because they added the olive cardi and they grey tights and turned a summer dress into fall. I just get antsy thinking about scarves and gosh, I need those boots!
Too bad it never gets cold enough to have to dress like this.
But as I leave you I am going to dream of having dinner here in an imaginary fall outfit, child-free. ahh.
What are you favorite things about fall?
