Butter
Take this post for whatever you are needing today. A laugh, encouragement that someone's having a worse day than you, a reason to judge, to take pity on me or a peek into the life for all single and/or childless friends.
So here's what happened.
This morning I was getting ready in the bathroom and Gwen runs in to grab some toilet paper and said "I need to wipe sister's face." "Ok". "She has butter all over her face." "Ok. Wait. What?!"
I run in to see my kitchen floor covered in butter and both my children-butter all over.
So my floor is the new local slip and slide.
And both of my girls are too slippery for me to grab to spank their little bottoms!
Those of you wondering how irresponsible of me, this feat included getting a chair over to the counter, climbing onto the counter, opening the cabinet and getting the butter dish down.
Those of you wondering how I didn't know what was going on, apparently I was too busy day dreaming that my girls were playing nicely and not getting into anything. :)
For people who don't understand the mystery of how all their "mom friends" are always late, can't remember to call them back, never seem to get anything done or forget anything else in general. This is an example of the things that happen. Unexpected things that all of the sudden take 30+ minutes that you didn't plan on. Then while you already have everything out you decide to go ahead and clean the rest of the floor/house etc.
While I'm being transparent about my "mom downfalls" I admit I locked my kids up while I got everything cleaned up. Liv in her highchair and Gwen in her room.
This is what Gwen does while in her room:
Chews on her bookshelf....rolling my eyes
But on a happier note...
the little one walking.
But at the end of the day, or even an hour later you're over it, who cares! You look at these faces and hear their laughs and see their smiles and you realize that it's part of the job. And the highs definitely outweigh the cleanups!
They are soooo cute and you are a great mom.
