The Day Has Come...
Well as you can see I switched sites, I was just really having some issues with xanga. So they had to go :)
As far as my title goes...gosh I literally have been dreading this day since before I had kids. It has come that I have to start contemplating da,da,da,duhhhh...potty training. Agh!! I think I'm mostly freaking out because I have no idea where to start, you know? I have books in the mail as we speak, to hopefully tell me what to do. Also, to confirm that she is indeed ready. The bright side I am seeing right now is to have it done before Olivia gets here and to only be buying one size of diapers at a time! Crazy thoughts :) But from what I've read, it takes about a week solid of only focusing on the potty. No errands, no to-do lists, no leaving the house, just 24 hr potty time. (I totally just said that like "party time" in my head). I know, I'm a dork.
For those curious as to how I have concluded or I believe that Gwen is ready is, she is very interested/fascinated in the toilet. She will come up and tell babysitters that's she has "poo, poo", which includes pointing to her bottom. If I ask if she pooed she looks down and says "no" and walks away, lol. Oh and last, but definitely not least. In the morning if she pooed, she doesn't like it. So she just takes her jammies AND her diaper off and cries for me to come and get her. A couple days of that and I think you'd be ready too!
I should be getting my books today, I ordered Pottywise, along with some other toddler training books so I will definitely let you know how it goes. Well I'm sure you'll hear about it whether you want to or not :) The reason I went with the Pottywise book is because I basically lived and breathed their original book Babywise, when Gwen was born. Saved both of our lives, literally. First day of following the book, Gwen slept through the night. So I'm hoping it will work just as well.
Do any of you seasoned mothers have any tried and true tricks of the trade? Dang, that's a tongue twister. Or anything that works well for girls?
