Gwen's Bedroom Artwork

Those of you who are friends with me on facebook have probably seen this picture I posted of what we have so far for Gwen's new "big girl" room which is turning out cute. But of course, not done. :)

So I'm trying to work on a something to go over her bed. At first I wanted to find an oval frame, chevron fabric and put a large "G" on it, something like this photo from Pinterest. But I already have a couple of g's in the room and I thought it might be too much.

 But after checking my boards trying to find the picture above I now have a few different options running through my head now. The first option I'll ask you all about is I thought I would paint the frame shown here, black and then I would cut out a silhouette of an animal in white fabric to attach to the red and white striped fabric to go above the bed. (I know, we didn't even make our bed this morning.)

Then this is the other option I found I pinned and I'm kinda contemplating just copying it. That's horrible I know, but I've seen these half bird cages at Garden Ridge and Hobby Lobby and would take basically no work on my part and still just as adorable. Thoughts?

Btw, I am totally in love with that coral bed. It was just one of those plain wood headboards you see everywhere. She got it for $15 at goodwill and painted it! Yay for thrifting!
