Jillian's Front Porch

First I need to apoligize to Jillian for taking forever and never getting back to her. I didn't forget! Just lacking the time to sit down and do it.

Jillian wanted help for her front porch, she rents but her landlord said she could paint the trim. Which agreed, is a horrible burnt orange. Anywho- she was thinking a blue or red door so I came up with some ideas.

Here's the front porch.

I'm going with the blue colors because no matter how I looked at it I couldn't get a bright red door to work. Since the rest of the trim is tan I wasn't loving the idea of painting it tan to match but you don't want to to look crazy with a bunch of colors going on. I had an idea as to the color I wanted for the front door- I don't know how to describe it. But it's this color.

Loch Blue

And there's also a little bit lighter shade if you want-

Manitou Blue

But obviously we can't paint the trim this color but if we keep it in the same family I felt it would draw you in with the focus being on the door. For the trim I picked-

Rainstorm

Gosh on here it kinda looks teal, but it's really a dark, dark, navy.

I also came up with another more conservative, less daring color palette which includes a purple door. :) Don't be scared it's really nice.

Anyways, start out by painting the trim a nice brown, tying in the rest of the house.

And finishing it off with a rich, deep purple door in:

As a side note: I think it could use a urn or a planter on the left side of your front door. Maybe something similar to this.
