Apartment Makeover: The Entry
The much anticipated results of my weekend in Atlanta. You know I'm going to drag this out otherwise the post would be ten years long, so one space at a time.
Today I'm showing you Beks new entryway.
She wanted some type of table for her entry but hadn't been able to find one, we'd both been looking online but didn't really want to pay a lot. After I arrived the first thing I see is a desk our mom had refinished stuck in her bedroom getting covered with mail. Moved it, and it was a perfect fit.
For me, in an entry I want a place to basically drop everything when you walk in the door. Because 9 times out of 10 if you don't have a place you usually end up dumping it somewhere else.
Keep it simple and interchangeable. You can easily change this with a different plant, fresh flowers or seasonal decor. We did splurge a little on the lamp, I mean, it was metallic snakeskin. Ya, I know.
Here is what we used.
Desk- Grandma's antique desk, refinished by Mom. Free.
Mirror- Leftover from parents bathroom remodel. Free.
Metallic snakeskin lamp- 29.99, TJ Maxx
White metal tray- 10, IKEA
Plant with bucket- 6, IKEA
Green vase- 4.99 TJ Maxx
Green and purple dish- Marshalls, 4.99
We all love a before picture.
After.
If she ever needs more storage, a place to put her shoes, shopping bags etc. baskets will fit perfectly underneath.
What do you think? Excited to see the rest?
love it! Can't wait to see more, girlfriend.
