Home Tour: Master Bedroom

Today is the second installment to the tour of our home.

{The Master Bedroom}

Honestly, there's nothing "master" about our bedroom. But it's not about the size it's about what you do with the space you do have. I chose a dark gray for an accent wall to anchor the bed in the space and used a simple cream for the remaining walls.
Instead of nightstands we are currently using our old end tables turned sideways, and added lidded baskets underneath for storage.
The headboard we DIY'd with a sheet of plywood, batting and linen fabric.
The antique trunk at the foot of the bed has been in the family as long as I can remember, which I cherish. It holds our extra linens and blankets.

What is the master bedroom without the...

{Master Bath}

When it came to the bathroom I wanted something bright, fresh and clean for the bathroom so we ended up with this pale lavender. Choosing a lighter color will make your space feel as large as possible.

Recently we installed the shelving above the toilet for $11 a shelf, thanks to Ikea.
I believe if there is a space with the opportunity for more storage, take it!

We are slowly making changes, but having a perfect, completely "done" house will probably never happen for us. Between a contractor and decorator I don't think we can leave much of anything alone.

Do you have the same problem, leaving well enough alone?
