Living Room Design

Sorry but I am so annoyed right now. Not being too brainy about computers is so stinking frustrating! So my Publisher has expired which I loved. And trying to do what I do in Word is a joke or I just don't know how to do it. Nevertheless I finally got it to where I was ok with how it looked in Word, then come to find out I can't save it as a jpg or whatever I need to put it on here. I'm sure there is a way but I can't figure it out. So for the 500th time I'll have to just try and do it on here directly and try to get it to look ok.

So after I did the "Kids Room" boards my friend Jillian asked if I could help her with her new house she is getting. This will be her first place after she gets married here in a couple weeks! Congratulations btw to her and Sam! The soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Viles.
This is Jillian's inspiration for the living/dining area. Cute, right?
I had to do my drawing of the room super old school because I'm not a professional by any means, guys. If I had a computer program that I could use instead of you having to look at my amateur drawings, I would.
This is my amateur drawing on top of the picture she posted for me on facebook :) You ready? Don't laugh.

I know, pretty impressive. Ack. Anyways, so first off I knew I wanted to add a large plant to help separate the spaces and showcase the height of their vaulted ceiling along with not making the space feel so vast and empty. I then drew some blue velvet curtains, a super cute woven basket filled with firewood. A wingback back chair, a chest with some pillows on it to serve as extra seating and two picture ledges at staggering heights. I figured as a photographer Jillian would have no problem filling those up.

Jillian- I hope this helps and you like it. My little side notes to you. Pillows- I know you have a World Market and I could literally live there, and they have tons of stuff. I didn't know if you sewed or not that's why I went with pre-made ones. Also, after having made some of my own recently they end up coming up about the same. :/ Curtains- Depending on the light filtering you want, I thought sheers are super cheap and easy and still let in plenty of light but if you want to block the sun I drew blue velvet curtains. I believe I've seen them at Target, but it'll give you a rich look and a nice pop of color. I'm sure you can't see that I drew it, but I had in my mind your Target rug under the dining room table. Letters- I immediately thought of these letters from Joanns. They're $9.99 and you can do whatever you want. When I googled them for the picture they came up will all kinds of ways to do them. Paint them, cover them in paper, make them look like metal, cover them in flowers. Endless ideas.

I hope you all like!! And as a side note, if any of you know of a program like Publisher that I can use that isn't $140 or how to make Word work for me I would love all the help I can get!
